How To Protect Your Privacy On Facebook
If you don't already know this, Facebook is the most used website in the world. It has over 500 million users. And over half of them are on the site at least once/day! What you should therefore is to go to your Facebook page.and click on the Account pull down. One of the choices is privacy settings. Go there and see what your settings are for different aspects of your profile. You may be surprised to see what you find.
Keep in mind that Facebook wants to add as many new members as possible. One of the great ways to do this is to have as much personal information available to the general public as possible. In this way people who may or may not know you but are interested in you can find you and then “friend” you. If some/all of your personal information is blocked, this greatly hinders this strategy.
Anyway it's not your responsibility to help Facebook get new members. It's a lot of fun if you can reconnect with old friends, etc. but you need to protect your privacy against people you don't want access to it. So make certain that know what information you want to make available and to whom.

So Facebook can be a great place to network with people and get reacquainted with old friends, relatives, etc. Just remember that all the information you decide to post on your page needs to be protected and limited to only those people you want to share it with.
